“Onward and Upward and Onward and ‐.” Issues of our Times in Cartoons (Highsmith Inc. 1995.). https://ushistorytimelineproject.wordpress.com/about/ | In 1965 the U.S. started to bomb Vietnam in hopes that these bombs would force Northern Vietnam Communists to end the war. Even when the bombings became more intense the North Vietnamese just kept going with the flow and the Americans had to keep going “onward and upward” with the size of the bombings, to the frustration of the United States. The words on each of the bombs is suggesting what the purpose of each bombing is but they are not successful in their purpose. |
